REASON 2. This one can go unmissed but if you open an existing session and plugins start to disable this can be caused because you have plugins loaded into the UAD Console application. If you are using a Capitol Chambers reverb which consumes 74% of a DSP chip you will almost certainly get a disabled plugin notification if this plugin is at the end of your session. This meas that when I load a session my high DSP consuming plugins load onto the chips first. As a rule of thumb for me, I always have my reverbs at the top of the session. A simple fix for this is to organise where your channels sit in your mix. If these plugins are of a high DSP consumption they may fail to load. This results in the UAD plugins towards the end of the mix loading last. However when you open an existing session you will notice that channel 1 in your session is loaded onto the chips first then channel 2 and so on. UAD try to distribute plugins across the chips in the best possible way as you load them into your session. The most common reason for plugins disabling is due to plugin management and the way they were previously organised on the chips in the previous session.

If you don't select any plugins, they will all be moved to the managed_plugins folder, and that's probably not what you want. The ones that you don't select will be moved to the managed_plugins folder (component, vst, and vst mono). The plugins that you select here will be kept in the system folder. You can use arrow up/down to move by one in either direction, or arrow left/right to go up and down by a page. If you chose the ‣ Manage my UAD plugins option, you'll be presented with a list of all of your UAD plugins, and an easy way to select the ones that you own (hit the SPACE BAR to toggle selection). The main menu should appear, and hopefully requires no explanation: Ruby manage_uad_plugins.rb to start the app.

Nothing is ever deleted, but you're welcome to delete the backup folder if you're happy with the upgrade. When a new version of a plugin is detected, the plugin manager will create a backup folder, place the old versions of the managed plugins in the corresponding back folder, and place the new versions of the plugins in the managed folder.
